I always took it as Elinor saying that she'd support him regardless.

I also think that Willoughby's 2000 a year is not quite as much as he should have in order to keep his grand manor thriving, so Marianne is also saying that a man of smaller fortune is just fine for her. Both sisters realize that the women that their hopeful husbands rely on for their wealth may not approve the matches, and that the men will be reliant on only their own fortune. Neither of them are going to be upset with a small amount, which is admirable.
