The only thing I can think of   Written by Line (10/3/2006 11:10 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Taking Elinor's hair unawares, penned by Pennie
Are you new?

My grandmother (born 1899) kept her long hair in a bun all her life, and she used to have a small cone-shaped plastic container with a lid that she used to put loose hairs into after combing or brushing. I don't know why loose hair was disposed of separately from other things, and it's not a very romantic image :-(, but I wonder if Elinor would have had something similar that Edward might have stolen a swatch of hair from as a keepsake of his beloved! (Mind you, it would probably be in her room, which I don't know if he would have had access to.)
