Elinor maybe right Edward affects less discrimination in admiring the beauties of nature than he possesses. Indeed!

When after his big profession of dislike for crooked trees, ruined cottages and nettles Marianne looked at him with amazement and at Elinor with compassion, what did Elinor do? She only laughed!
I think that was such a sweet example of how well she understands him. It's clear that they would have been rather well matched. Sigh.
