...it closely mirrors a sentence that I'm looking forward to. Alas, that's in week 5.

She's replying to Edward at the time, and has recently been mortified and vexed and half angered by his coldness and reserve (ch 16), so he does indeed seem to be a rallying point for the idea, even though her uses of "frequently" imply that it's broadly-based.
