...or not. The idea here is that the "Queen Mab" character was very much a part of JA's "cultural baggage", and she hadn't read the works you've cited in this thread, the people who wrote them very well might have.
So many readers of JA's time, upon seeing that the horse is named "Queen Mab", would have instantly heard warning bells -- regardless of whether they were actually familiar with all of those authors, they would know that the name had unsavoury connotations.
This is why it's not so far-fetched sometimes, when critics cite authors who are now relatively (or totally) obscure. It was all part of that period's breeding ground of catch-phrase and metaphor.
