Okay--a short note and a link   Written by Barbara (9/28/2006 10:47 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Drayton, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

In Drayton's poem Nymphidia, Queen Mab had a tryst with a member of Oberon's fairy court (Pigwiggen) and Oberon pursued her, then sent Puck after her. Pigwiggen and Oberon duel for her honour.

Queen Mab goes to see Prosperine (Persephone) who brings some mist from the River Styx and some water from the Lethe spring that makes you forget everything after you drink it. The two rivals forget why they were fighting or even that there was a problem.

I've linked the poem below. As I said, I don't know that JA ever read this and it doesn't seem to me as this is the allusion she intended to make.
