Dream imagery....   Written by Mandy N (9/28/2006 1:04 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Queen Mab, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

I think Mercutio's speech reminds us Willoughby and Marieanne's intimacy is quite unreal, perhaps dreamlike.
'Most unwilling was she to awaken from such a dream of felicity'.

Given the name of the horse 'Queen Mab', the implication appears more than Willoughby giving Marieanne an extravagent gift.
Queen Mab maybe a subtlety to refer to how Willoughby makes himself appear romantic and dashing; Or how he plays with her feelings.

JA was well read and in Classic literture, horses have long been a symbol of male passion. In Greek legends, Poseidon assumed the shape of a horse to induce young women into folly.
