Scary party! ;D   Written by Robbin (9/26/2006 11:55 p.m.)
Are you new?

Their intended excursion to Whitwell turned out very differently from what Elinor had expected. She was prepared to be wet through, fatigued, and frightened; but the event was still more unfortunate, for they did not go at all. (Chapter 13)

I understand why Elinor thought she might get “wet through” and "fatigued" but I am not sure why “frightened” is in the mix. What has Elinor to fear in a party of pleasure? Is this just a joke or could Elinor be afraid of thunder or a capsized sail boat? :D
