I agree with everything you say but that running down the hill is improper—I am not sure about that. I read the above to mean that the situation they found themselves in (delightful walk) makes it proper to run down the hill and because of the rain it is even more so but is that just JA poking fun as usual? In S&S2, in this scene Margaret says sometime like (not sure if this is the exact quote); “I am not supposed to run!” Is this citation from Chapter 9 the reason for that line in the movie? Was it really improper for a young girl and a very young lady to run a few steps down a hill? I feel a bit muddled! ;D
