and imagined a wide and large hipped Mrs. Jennings till Barabara's post hit me with the harsh reality about jointures.

LOL!!!
Because of the word 'ample', I think. Like 'ample bosom'.

So you see I had already worked out which part of her body it was - something to do with a joint of meat (I don't know what they might call it in US). I am not even sure if I have the right part of the body called 'joint'. :D

I'm so glad you brought it up Tina. Now I can air my ignorance with impunity ;)
