Think differently—what an idea… ;D   Written by Robbin (9/21/2006 9:22 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think we are supposed to see a lack, penned by Tracy W
Are you new?

There was nothing in any of the party which could recommend them as companions to the Dashwoods... (Chapter 7)

Actually—I agree with you—thanks for the insight. Sir John and Lady Middleton do exhibit a lack as they do not equal their new neighbors in sense and resources and are therefore poor companions. I do also agree that developing one’s mind for its own sake is a lovely employment for an individual with many rewards and in addition it is a particularly gratifying employment for their acquaintance—I think the Dashwood ladies would have appreciated it in such lonely country far away from the friends of old! Lady Middleton, I have not much use for due to her coldness but Sir John despite his faults of limited employment captures my admiration because he is so kind to the Dashwood ladies, displaying real concern for their situation by his actions to enhance their comforts and I find it hard to dislike someone who while pursuing his own pleasures gives much to others. ;D
