Good point...   Written by Moni (9/20/2006 12:32 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think, the taste..., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

in comparing them to Fanny and John's dubious hospitality. IMO the Middletons are good solid hosts, even if they have their faults.

I don't know about this taste and employments thing, I mean, it seems early on during his visits to the cottage, Sir John is amazed that the Dashwood ladies move about, employing themselves, and do things in the house, like the girls walk and explore and such, and the drawings of Elinor are hung up, Marianne's piano is regularly used.

I would like to know more about this word "employment" and what it meant in context of that time. Whatever it is, the Middletons don't do it, the Dashwoods do, it has something to do with how they choose to spend their time;-D
