Are you new?

Mrs. Dashwood might not be willing to accept his help, but Sir John's original offer to her was "whether Barton Cottage, . . . could by any alteration, be made comfortable to her."

I wonder if, in the spring, Sir John wouldn't help Mrs. Dashwood with some additions to the house that she has in mind. The improvements would be to his property, and he's a generous person.
