|The mention in chapter 5 of the servants

in consequence of the missive, The Servants, penned by Deborah d'Bajor
that Her wisdom, too, limited the number of their servants to three; two maids and a man, with whom they were speedily provided from amongst those who had formed their establishment at Norland. , makes me think that Mrs Dashwood must have been a very good mistress to make their servants speedily want to go with them.
A change of counties would be a big deal back then, and I don't think servants could easily afford to travel large distances. By going to the new establishment they were breaking any ties to their home.
Either that or Fanny was so terrible the servants just wanted to get away.
