Both Letters   Written by TerriAnn (9/18/2006 7:33 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, 'Some distance', penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

“She instantly wrote Sir John Middleton her acknowledgment of his kindness, and her acceptance of his proposal; and then hastened to shew both letters to her daughters, that she might be secure of their approbation before her answer were sent.”

I took this to mean that she wrote her reply to Sir John immediately, but then presented both letters, Sir John’s original offer and her own reply, to her daughters before she actually put her own letter in the post. Did I read it wrongly? Did she actually write two letters to Sir John? This is both my first time reading the novel and my first group read, so please let me know if I am misinterpreting anything. ;-D
