Some of this has been discussed in threads below, but this chapter is so brilliant - so funny and yet so tragic....
John thinks he's being generous by deciding to give each of his sisters (sorry, Fanny - HALF-sisters!) £1,000 each. by the end of the chapter he has so far been talked round by his 'lady' (double SUTH to FD!) that he believes that it will be OK for him to help them move out (!!!!!) and occasionally send them a couple of pheasants of a bit of fish.
And of course they will live so cheaply that at the end of the year they might even have something left over to give to HIM!!
I think Fanny knows exactly which buttons to push to make John act as she wants! He seems perfectly willing to engage in the self-deception that everything is going to be OK for the Dashwood ladies....
I also noticed that pretty soon after their arrival at Barton a basket of garden stuff (vegetables?) and fruit is sent to the cottage from the Park. Not quite fish and Game, but I'm pretty sure there's a point JA is making...
