My favorites, etc...   Written by Tanya Virginia (3/11/2007 3:59 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Overall impressions?, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

So, what is your final verdict of the play?

It was funny, I actually laughed out loud at least twice per scene. I thought it was going to be a challenge to read, but I was surprised at how conversational the play was.

1. Who is your favorite character?

Captain Absolute when he's making fun of people like his father, Mrs. M, Faulkland, and innocent Bob. And, apart from specific characters, I like the asides. Funny.

2. What was your favorite scene?

The Mrs. Malaprop/Beverly letter reading scene. I like that he really gets into calling her a dragon while she thinks he's sympathizing with her!

3. What didn't you like?

I guess Sir Lucius is a bit of a cipher, as you said. Not with the play but with myself: Felt like I understood the plot, etc. at the time but didn't synthesize all the layers of what I read until 1 or 2 days after we'd moved on to another act! Wah, Wah, Wah! Also: So many ideas to post, so little time!

4. Favorite line?
