It was great…   Written by Robbin (3/10/2007 8:58 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Overall impressions?, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

I enjoyed this play and it was a new experience as the only other plays I can recall having read was Romeo and Juliet in school many years ago and a movie screen play based on Asimov’s robot short stories—not the same as the recent movie release. After all is said and done, Mrs. Malaprop is first in my affections then Fighting Bob for likeability but he ties with Sir Anthony in providing laughs. Mrs. M was just a hoot throughout the play but I agree that her best scene was expounding on the proper education for girls; Bob’s valor sneaking away under Sir Lucius’s very bloodthirsty eye and Sir Anthony’s railing against his son for not agreeing to his choice, denying him both the Sun and the Atmosphere and finally to unget him. LOL! I think Lydia’s hiding of the books is a standout scene too. The only part I did not like was Sir Anthony’s lechery towards his son’s future bride. I agree with you again on the favorite line: “He is the very pineapple of politeness!” :D
