..it only adds to the humor that there is method in Mrs. Malaprop's inadvertent malapropriety, in that Fag has a way of bending the truth, some of the time a little (only 90 degrees or perpendicular) but other times 180 degrees the opposite of the truth!

And anyway, perpendicular is in and of itself a delicious word to say aloud.
