in consequence of the missive, Lucius' Duel Mystery (longish), penned by Tanya Virginia
I understand that this additional reason for the duel was added as a response to the opening night version. What I was confused about was that it came out of the blue, so to speak, for we don't ever hear Jack speak the slur - it all happened "off-stage" and so it is a surprise when that is named as a reason for the duel. Unless, as I say, I missed it somewhere along the way? I don't remember reading it, and you'd think the cause for the duel would be in the play!
But, as you say, it is really the secondary reason for the duel - Sir Lucius was a duel-at-the-drop-of-a-hat kind of guy. ;-)
Thanks, Tanya and Julie.
