More...   Written by Robbin (3/1/2007 9:49 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, LOL Lines, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Fag. Why, my prince of charioteers, you look as hearty!—but who the deuce thought of seeing you in Bath? (Act I, Scene I)

Lyd. Ah, Julia, I have a thousand things to tell you!—But first inform me what has conjured you to Bath?—Is Sir Anthony here? (Act I, Scene II)

Fag’s language is colorful and funny to me—his calling the unfashionable Thomas “prince of charioteers” gave me a smile. I also thought the use of the word “conjured” was funny, as if Julia magically appeared in Bath. I guess perhaps it is sort of true because Thomas tells Fag in Scene I that Sir Anthony came at the spur of the moment to prevent an attack of the gout by (presumably to me) taking the waters or dipping in them or both. I like this play very much, the word choices are fun and conjure up pictures readily. ;D
