Excuse my glove...   Written by Robbin (3/1/2007 9:32 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, "Polishing" Thomas(Act I,scene i), penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Fag. Excuse my glove, Thomas:—I’m devilish glad to see you, my lad. Why, my prince of charioteers, you look as hearty!—but who the deuce thought of seeing you in Bath? (Act I, Scene I)

Another great post JulieW! The expression “excuse my glove” caught my eye. Does this mean Fag is apologizing for wearing gloves—not shaking bare-handed? Or could something else be up such as dirt on his gloves? Is this part of Fag’s fashionable manners, I notice Thomas does not comment on Fag's gloves at all or seem to take any offense. ;D
