Rules of conduct   Written by Elena (3/1/2007 2:18 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Bath- setting the scene, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Wonderful rules and well-expressed, to boot. Does it seem to me or is there gentle irony lurking between lines? A whiff or something? And, Julie, you have already told us so much, for which the greatest thanks *curtseys*, but do you know how the rules were brought to patrons' attention? Was there any printed sheet or a sort of explanation from the Master of Ceremonies to new-comers? (I remember how Mr Pickwick began his Bath visit with a talk with the contemporary MoC.)
