Scale plan of Covent Garden   Written by Robbin (2/27/2007 8:30 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Covetn Garden-Scene of the First Performance of" The Rivals&, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

The scale plan of Covent Garden is excellent and allowed me to better envision the mechanics of the stage, I am especially intrigued at how the different backgrounds are pulled out and your description of the play being performed in full light and boxes practically on the stage brought home to me why the audience was as much a show as the play. I notice they had a “green room” and I know the entertainment industry still has green rooms although I do not know if they are still used for the same purpose—neat stuff, very neat indeed! Thanks! ;D
