Favorite lines   Written by Lizzy A (2/26/2007 4:16 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sheridan's Preface, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

I too liked the "little puny critics" line as well as the next paragraph:

It is not without pleasure that I catch at an opportunity of justifying myself. . .

As well as the serjeant [sic] in the first Prologue:

"Hey! how's this? Dirbble! suire it cannot be!
A poet's brief! A poet and a fee!

It sounds funny and flows well! The second Prologue is funny too:

While sad Barsanti - weeping o'er the scene,
Shall stab herself - or poison Mrs Green.
Such dire encroachments to prevent in time,
Demands the critic's voice - the poet's rhyme.

And I recognize iambic pentameter - thanks to currently reading Shakespeare!!!
