I freely confess to have been a scanning fool with regard to the preparation for this play.

The problem is that Sherdien puts a refernce almost in every line which needs explaination...both to help understand the action of the play and to put the text into some context so we can "get" the jokes( I'd hate us to miss a joke for I dearly love a laugh).

I hope to be able to provide some background to the play, fill you in a little about Sheriden's life, the theatre of the time....you get the idea,I'm sure.
