I was fooled   Written by Mary Frances 2 (4/1/2004 7:57 p.m.)
Are you new?

I have to admit it -- I was fooled by Parrish for most of the book. I thought that since he was a suspicious character to begin with (fabuously rich, very nice and devotedly in love with CAROLINE), that he would not turn out to be the villain after all. It wasn't until Netherfield that I began to get suspicious of him with all the ring references. However, I did always think that Professor Randolph was not out to harm Caroline or the Bingleys.

Mr. Hurst financial problems were a red herring that did not hook me. But I was convinced that somehow the Bingley's inept servants would come into play somehow - especially the frozen, broken dangerous path, but of course I was wrong there!

I thought that somehow Kendall and Juliet were the villains. I still don't understand why he wanted money from Bingley so much, as it doesn't appear that he was in dire circumstances himself. Just greed, I suppose.

Overall an entertaining read.
