] Also, I found the Bingley's servants just a bit "over the top". ...It was cute the first time but after a while it was a repetitious and not very funny joke. Did this annoy anyone else?

I know exactly what you're saying. Enough, already. And our Jane was able to say it so succinctly, "Your servants will cheat you, and you will always exceed your income". We got the point - beautifully. But in fairness to our author, it was so true, wasn't it? Jane and Bingley would always be too compliant.
