Darcy doesn't believe him...   Written by Michele S. (3/28/2004 3:45 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 21 - Kendall!, penned by Linda
Are you new?

] Darcy does not seem convinced that Kendall did the breaking off of the engagement.

...but then Darcy doesn't know he asked Elizabeth for a lock of hair, too. *shudder* I should think that might seriously alter his perception of the man. I honestly wondered, at the time, whether he wouldn't use the lock of the New Mrs. Darcy's hair to blackmail the Darcys - to have such a personal token from the newlywed lady would surely create a scandal if he chose to use it that way, wouldn't it? (But then, how could he prove it was hers?) At any rate, I was relieved that she refused.

Now, however, hearing that he asked the same from Juliet...I just don't know. Kendall's apparent need of money doesn't make him a likely candidate for blackmail. What DOES Parrish want with that hair ?? Between the two men, I'm sorry to say I'm more inclined right now to believe Kendall's account of the break-up.
