Elizabeth starts to suspect the Professor after witnessing him performing some sort of strange ritual on Caroline.

Is he responsible for Caroline's strange behavior? Is "he some sort of practitioner of the dark arts?" Elizabeth thinks so and warns Parrish.

It appears that they are not conspiring together after all.
