Rings and questions..   Written by DeborahAnn (3/26/2004 10:07 a.m.)
Are you new?

Hate to keep going on about it but I can't quit thinking that these rings are not what they seem. I am more convinced than ever that they are either the root of Caroline's problem or at least a contributor.

In chapter 19 at dinner--after Mr. Kendall's "stare out". To help calm his wife, Parrish takes her hand in a "gesture of support". Why the mention of his ring catching the light of the candelbras?? And then soon after Caroline complains of a severe headache and has to leave the room. What are these rings made of? Is Caroline's made of something sinister that may be slowly poisoning her? Or is there something darker at work here?
