Parrish deflecting   Written by Michele S. (3/25/2004 12:50 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 17, penned by Linda
Are you new?

] Parrish seems to be casting suspicion on his wife. Again, makes one wonder at his devotion. Although, Elizabeth seems to believe him.

You know, Parrish has made rather a show of inquiring about Caroline's tendencies, fussing over her, "worrying" about her, ever since the first "Sleepwalking" incident. Is this all just in an effort to keep everyone's attention focused on her and not himself, perhaps??

As for the fire....I don't think it absolutely impossible that Caroline set it, but if she did, it wasn't of her own volition.

] Caroline sustains another injury! Is it self-inflicted? Why is just her hand burned and nothing else? Or were her clothes destroyed and that is why she is wearing servants' garb?

Maybe this is just designed to make it look as though Caroline set the fire, burned her clothes, and tried to cover it up? Once again, it keeps the focus on Caroline....and Parrish makes sure that a seed of doubt is planted against her.

Is this all a diversion to distract from something else going on that we don't see?
