] I found Parrish's interest in Bingley's intention to purchase an estate in the near future (ch. 10) - and his suggestion that they tour prospects together - slightly odd, given their relatively short acquaintance.

But they are family. Brothers now, even though very recent acquaintances. I thought that Parrish was just humouring Mrs. Bennet with that statement.
