The Wedding   Written by Anne Charlotte (3/22/2004 3:56 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 6, penned by Linda
Are you new?

] The wedding! No scarcity of lace here! A spectacle! How was she able to plan such an elaborate wedding so quickly?

I am astonished at the grandeur of the Bingley/Parrish-Wedding. Exotic Flowers, invitations to slight aquaintances, an enormous wedding breakfast...
I read at the L&T board some time ago that weddings in Regency times were not such important events as they are nowadays (and that explained why Mr Knightley was not present at Miss Taylor's wedding)
So why is Caroline's wedding such a big deal? Is it because it is a "London-Wedding"? Or is it just because Caroline always wants to have everything better and ostentatious than anybody else? ;-)
Anyway, I have no idea how she managed it in such a short time. It must have cost a great deal and occupied many servants, too.
