Like Barbara mentioned below, I am suspicious of Miss Kendall and her supposed large fortune. Lord Chatfield's early reference to gambling made me wonder if we will learn that someone has lost a fortune to gambling, besides the obvious Mr. Hurst.

It does seem to me that Caroline is being gaslighted!

I think that Lizzy's visit put Miss Kendall on her guard about the Darcys.
