] I agree with you here. The Darcys were good people, but I doubt if they would change any of their plans for Caroline.

At the wedding breakfast: "Jane extended a placating hand, as if to literally smooth their mother's ruffled feathers. 'I am sure my new sister doesn't mean to draw notice toward herself.'"

As much as they may dislike it, I'm guessing they will honor and include Caroline as one of their family circle. (On the other hand, I could be wrong.) Darcy and Bingley are good friends, Jane is now Caroline's "sister", and you know how families can be. I'm assuming they want to get their family relationships off on the right foot. I do feel badly that they are not already on their way to Pemberley, but that's another story...
