Observations   Written by LaurieC (3/21/2004 12:08 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Welcome to the Pride and Prescience Group Read!, penned by Linda
Are you new?

] Chapter 1

] Many of Jane Austen’s characters are present at the wedding breakfast.

I was very saddened that Charlotte was given grey hairs! She seems a little young (although I realize that they can come in early), but think it must be a sign of sadness or stress.

] Chapter 2
]but I am not sure how the quote starting Chapter 2 applies.

I love these quotes! They are taken out of context, yet seem to fit the situation so well. I was thinking this could be looked at two ways. Instead of a "lady's imagination", it was really "Mr. Darcy's imagination," and here they are--newlyweds. It could also be a foretelling of the rapidity of Miss Bingley's engagement--I think she possibly missed a middle step in her haste to find a mate.

] Chapter 4
] How do others feel?

I think we are going to be presented with two definite sides to this debate. We've already seen that Darcy has read a "horrid" novel (a shocked LOL!), so I wonder if he will give way at all in his stance against the supernatural? I've been very good and not read ahead, so I am all anticipation!
