First Impressions   Written by Tara O'Donnell (3/21/2004 9:09 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Welcome to the Pride and Prescience Group Read!, penned by Linda
Are you new?

This is the first time I've really read an Austen sequel(tried Stephanie Barron but just couldn't get into it)and so far, this book has been a pleasant experience.

The first chapter sets a nice tone-all the characters seem to be themselves and Lizzie has some great lines-"Dear Jane, only you could be so generous. She was circulating the news while we were still in the recieving line." How very in character for Miss Bingley to be trying to upstage the double wedding by annoucing her own!

I also like the way Lizzie rescues Darcy from the tedious conversation of Mr. Collins. In general, the chemistry between the Darcys is well done and feels right. I love it in chapter two when Darcy is disappointed that the London house is not yet ready for their arrival and Lizzie puts him at ease with such witty comments as"Nonsense. I like what you've done with the place. The furniture all matches now."LOL

As to the other chapters,I am not surpised that Darcy would reject any notion of supernatural power. I don't think Lizzie is superstitious but perhaps abit more openminded on the subject. I don't trust the Kendalls and am still deciding on Professor Randolph.
