Just the first chapter in this post -- I think Caroline Bingley is perfect, and perfectly nasty still. :-)

At first, I could not imagine that Caroline would want marry an American -- it surely wouldn't help her aspirations for moving up in rank, would it? However, her fiance is wealthy, and I can believe that she would want to marry well AND as soon as possible after the two Bennet sisters have married.

I believe that Mrs Bennet's noisy complaints seem like P&P2's Mrs Bennet's actions (I can almost hear Alison Steadman whining!), but I thought it was nicely done (and not over-done). I agree with you that most of the regular cast of characters acted as we would expect from P&P.

I do wonder about Georgiana going to stay with the Gardiners. I thought she had her own establishment (with Mrs Annesley) in London. It was a nice touch, however, to have the Gardiners & Darcys already on such friendly terms.
