In terms of Darcy's line on silencing him forever, all you have to do is watch Matthew Macfadyen's swoony delivery of that line in P&P3 and no longer will it seem stuffy or stiff upper lippy. The gulp he takes in the middle of the line makes Darcy so sexy, so strong and vulnerable at the same time. I know P&P3 is not perfect to the book, although I think it is true in spirit.
