Perfection non grata   Written by Robbin (6/23/2007 3:40 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, If you are hard on Darcy, you are also hard on Lizzy., penned by Adrian
Are you new?

Perfectly consistent is a lot to ask from anyone I admit. I think you have hit a tender point with me; to criticize Darcy for not confessing to Jane opens Lizzy up to much the same criticism. I think it would be painful for Lizzy to know Jane was prejudiced against Darcy—that is also a good point. Darcy does tend to think of Lizzy first so I can see protecting her would be a high priority for him and Bingley seems such an amiable person that he probably does not see the benefit of an apology either at this late date. I think it is the six month wait that makes honesty now a painful endeavor between the sisters; Line also pointed out Jane would be prejudiced and I never quite got that before. Thanks to you both! ;D
