One assumes that Mrs. Bennet's daughters were married from Longbourn church (from which Mrs. B wanted Lydia married), the church of the brides' family. Yet Lydia and Wickham were married at WIckham's local church, presumably not the same as the Gardiners'. (We know why Lydia did not marry from Longbourn.)
What was the common practice for choosing a location? Was marrying at the husband's parish unusual?
We were married, you know, at St. Clement's, because Wickham's lodgings were in that parish. (Ch. 51)
