"Elizabeth...now forced herself to speak... gave him to understand that her sentiments had undergone so material a change ... The happiness which this reply produced was such as he had probably never felt before, and he expressed himself on the occasion as sensibly and as warmly as a man violently in love can be supposed to do. Had Elizabeth been able to encounter his eyes, she might have seen how well the expression of heartfelt delight diffused over his face became him; but, though she could not look, she could listen, and he told her of feelings which, in proving of what importance she was to him, made his affection every moment more valuable."
I've wanted to see a little of this "Heartfelt Delight" in ANY of the adaptations. There is some at the very end of P&P1, on Oakham Mount, but very little. Then I found the "Bits of Ivory" board here at this website. Ann2 has written a story titled "Heartfelt Delight" and has done a very good job of depicting it, in my opinion. Ann2 has very modestly described her stories as "fluff," but I have greatly enjoyed all of them. You might also. Go to "BoI" click on "Archives" and search for them. You won't be sorry!
