Are you new?

For a long time, I had convinced myself that the Elizabeth of the novel, unlike the one in P&P0, doesn't change her mind about Darcy until Darcy changes his mind about Jane and Bingley, but once I found this Republic, fellow Pemberleans pointed out that this is not true - Elizabeth changes her mind well before Darcy changes his! I'm not sure what I think of this - it does seem as though Elizabeth is lowering her standards, doesn't it? :-(
