Are you new?

Lizzy accepting a first up invite to Derbyshire? Given her feelings at the time, perhaps this offer would have furnished a definite "no", with a wish to go somewhere else, from Lizzy. She had become used to disappointments and seemed to take just another one in her stride.

I also think it's fascinating that JulieW mentions Gilpin, which of course gives it a strong meaning.
