Are you new?

Why would Lizzy be giving up her loyalty to her family in favor of Darcy, when this is likely to scotch any chance she has of marrying Darcy?

While the confidence does show a certain amount of reciprocal confidence, I don't think Lizzy would have confided if she hadn't been very upset, and if she hadn't thought the story would get out, anyway.
