I like how you take it step by step. It is very interesting this careful plotting indeed. The coincidence has never bothered me. I mean everything comes so naturally..."He came a day earlier"...

As for the Lakes, except being a plot device, (having never seen a photo or sth, but being a nature-landscape admirer) I can assume they were and are worth visiting...
