Fantastic! I couldn't agree with you more...   Written by Lila (6/13/2007 9:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, How does it being typical make it any better?, penned by Tracy W
Are you new?

At first blush it seems as though Mr. Collins is expressing disapproval. In my opinion, even in our culture today, Lydia's behavior is less than virtuous (sadly, misogeny exists today in many countries and is fed by the ignorance of both men and women, but that is for another board). However, Mr. Collins' statements are cruel and plain old nasty. He is self righteous without truly being righteous.

You are so right in your assessment, Tracy W.

I feel horrible for Charlotte... How can she stand listening to him day in and day out?
