In my Penguin Classics edition (which seems to be based a lot on the first versions of the novel), it is written

"That is all settled;" repeated the other

I wonder...

Anyhow, thank you for reminding me of this little quote, it does give us a glimpse of Mrs. G's thoughts on the subject.
