Obnoxious man! Written by Rachel G (6/12/2007 9:20 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr. Collins letter, penned by Graciela

Up to this point I have been able to laugh at Mr Collins, as being merely a conceited, pompous, narrow minded, silly man, but this letter of 'condolence' really brings home to me what a truly unpleasant individual he is.

"The death of your daughter would have been a blessing ..."

"... reflect with augmented satisfaction.."

"... throw off your unworthy child from your affection for ever .."

Ugh! Horrible man! How I pity his parishioners - I believe I would rather be scolded into harmony and plenty by Lady C, than be on the receiving end of the Rev. Wm. Collins condolences and sermonisings.
